Appreciation all the things Mothers do
Mother's Day is this weekend. If you haven't already, make sure to give your mom a call before the holiday, which is all about celebrating moms with flowers, gifts and more. But in addition to festivities, Mother's Day is also about taking time to appreciate all the things that mothers do. I'd like to share one of my own stories that I think about every time Mother's Day shows up on the calendar. Take some time to appreciate your mom this year.
My mother passed away when I was teenager. One day, she had a horrible, painful stomach ache and my dad brought her to our family doctor. When she arrived, the doctor told my father to take her to the hospital right away. Panicked, he rushed my mother to the emergency room. There, my father signed a consent form without reading it thoroughly and they immediately took my mother into surgery. My poor father had no experience with hospitals or emergency rooms and he was overwhelmed by the entire ordeal. At the hospital, my mother suddenly and unexpectedly passed away. Even now, my family and I are still not sure why she died, but the hospital told us that she had a reaction during the operation. It was a tragedy for our family and it all happened so quickly that we're still struggling with some of the details.
Why do I bring this up? It's important to appreciate your loved ones, on Mother's Day and every other day of the year. You never know what can happen. Make sure to tell your loved ones that you care for them, whether it's with a quick message, a beautiful bouquet of flowers or an unforgettable gift at Beauty Journey.
